A Still-Life Painting Exhibition: In The Presence of Things

In Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, there was a still-life painting exhibition titled "In The Presence of Things" between 21 October 2011 and 8 January 2012. The exhibition is the second (and last) part of an exhibition series, and presents works of 19th century painters such as Monet, Cézanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin as well as 20th century works by Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Magritte and Dali.

Below are my favorites from this amazingly inspiring exhibition.

Henri Fantin-Latour - La Table Garnie (1866)

Vincent Van Gogh - Blossoming Chestnut Branches (1890)

René Magritte - The Portrait (1935)
